Legacy Connection
Youth Programs

Throughout the year, Legacy Connection staff work hard to provide resources to at-risk youth in the Tri-State region. The Tri-state region consists of Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley, Laughlin, Needles, Topock/Golden Shores, Peach Springs, and Oatman. Through established programs, over 5,700 youth are provided various resources yearly.

Youth Programs

Connection Express formerly Backpack Buddies "Dress for Success"

Since 2004, the Backpack Buddies "Dress for Success" program

has been established as a pillar supporting youth with backpacks

filled with school supplies, shoes, socks, uniform shirts,

undergarments, and other necessities. In 2024, Legacy

Connection kicked off the new Connection Express!

M*A*S*H* Program

Through a unique partnership with the local hospitals, Legacy Connection invites junior-level high school students to participate in a 2 week - 80 hour internship. During the two weeks, students get to experience all aspects of hospital careers from HVAC systems, to nursing, and nutrition services. More details regarding this program are released in March, and will be under the Youth Program tab.

High School Shopping Experience

  Kicked started from a grant from Kohl's Cares from the Heart;

The High School Shopping Experience was developed to provide

High School students with a $100 gift card to purchase needed

items. In 2024, students were able to shop at Ross Dress for Less.

Cap & Gown Program

The Cap & Gown Program provides graduating High School Seniors an opportunity to receive a brand-new Cap & Gown to wear at graduation for FREE! The application is provided through the HS counselor. We want every High School senior to celebrate graduation without facing a financial burden.

Immediate Need Fund

Serving as gap funding for essentials needed by youth during the school year, the immediate need fund allows staff to purchase items requested by the school for individual youth and promptly respond to requests for assistance for youth in need.
